Hello, I have a question. Can I keep the functionality of NPP valves if I delete the mufflers?(I also want to keep my exhaust tips) I heard that it does not make much sense but even getting 30-40% lower sound would be good for cold start because of my neighborhood. I attached a picture that I saw a listing on Ebay but it's sold already. Can any muffler shop do this for $200-300?
With that setup, the NPP valves should not make any impact on sound. The valve would only route all of the exhaust through the other wide-open pipe. All of the sound dampening happens inside the muffler when the valve is closed.
The valves might still work, but it's not going to make it any quieter. The valves purpose was to force the exhaust through the MUFFLERS to MUFFLE the sound. You removed the mufflers so there goes that. LOL live and learn I guess.
I didn’t have a muffler delete vut I had the magnaflow comp exhaust that is similar to that setup and it did quiet it a bit and also helped with drone. Wide open it droned bad closed it still droned but not that loud
To answer your exact question, yes you can keep the functionality of your NPP Valves if you delete your mufflers as long as the work that is done keeps the valves in place. However, the valves will do nothing to change the sound if you do what is pictured above. Additionally, if you want different tips you will have chopped up the stock piping so much it doesn't make any sense. You might as well find a custom shop to build you an exhaust setup where you can have your NPP valves put back into the setup, assuming you're going no muffler. But if you're spending that kind of money you might as well just pony up and do the smart thing and buy Borla or Corsa used. The only reason someone would try to do a muffler delete is to get the sound without spending much money, but that makes zero sense on a car with NPP.
I don't think any of us understand your reasoning in wanting to do a muffler delete on an NPP car. After you ruin the exhaust the car will sound EXACTLY the same as it does with the NPP valves open.
