Default Quickjack and Xpipe installation

I'm installing my Xpipe tomorrow and decided to put the car on my new Quickjack today. I tested it on our "dog car" Mazda 3 but only lifted it to the first level. I'm shocked at how high this thing can actually lift the car. I've seen several pictures but it looks so much higher in person. Anyway, it looks like money well spent so far.

Yes, I have the 7000SLX and used it to install my X pipe also back in May.

I changed my pads and bled my brakes

I didn’t need the jack stands but make me feel better when I put an xpipe and axle back exhaust

I have the Quickjack 5000 and always use safety stands when I get under the car. If a weld breaks on the Quickjack the car is coming down on you. No way I am trusting my like to any jack.

I agree. I put 2 stands on each side under the jacks.

Looking at buying a Quickjack.

And anyone here using a 12V DC version?

The normal 110V versions are on sale at Home Depot / Costco but don't have power in garage (and figure a 12V might be more versatile).

I ordered the 5000SLX but they shipped the 7000SLX by mistake and said I could keep it for the same price so I did. In all honestly I think the 7000 is overkill. The ramps weight almost 100lbs each and they're kind of a PIA to move around but the results are excellent.

If it means anything, I'm a structural engineer and the simplicity of the quickjack frame is really amazing. The entire frame is almost entirely under axial load. The rubber pads on the main beam have a short eccentricity from the adjacent node so it really only sees a spike in shear stress (steel isn't even designed for shear strength except for very special situations because it's so strong in shear). Those welds will yield well before they break giving you a huge warning.

That being said, I still use jack stands as a backup because extra safety never hurt anybody but the quickjack frame will handle a lot more than you think.

Just bought one a couple weeks ago, I've been busy and haven't used them yet but plan too over the next few days.

Is there enough lift to be able to get under the car for an x-pipe replacement?
Curious what your experience felt like.

There is plenty of room to swap out the x pipe and do axle back.

Just installed Akra Evo on my car today using quickjacks. A little more cumbersome but all done.
