Default Top and Trunk stopped working.

Please hurry the top is down, it looks like rain, and I locked my keys in the car! OK, just kidding, but the top and trunk are not working. It says Top Insecure on the DIC.

Any suggestions? I have a TopDownTech module in there that I now suspect, as I found it unplugged form the USB, but plugging it back in made no difference.

Anyone had this problem before, with or without the module, and any luck resolving it yourself? I'm not in Valet mode, I checked that...

Are your windows indexed? Index them to be sure. I don't know anything about the TopDownTech module. I have the Smarttop.

Does your mod work through the USB?

Try taking that top down module off. Reset the battery maybe?

Looking at it for $150, it seems to only contol the windows via the FOB. It is NOT USB, it plugs into the DTC. The Smarttop controls the windows AND the convertible top. True it costs more but it does so much more.

So, back to your issue. Remove it from ther DTC.

To do the ALT-CTRL-DEL to the car, use your owner's manual to find the location of your ECM/TCM fuse (2014 is #52 in Engine Bay Fuse Box), unplug it for a few minutes and you should reboot. Disconnecting the battery negative terminal achieves the same result, but that a bit more time consuming.

We've read many times on here that a solution to a weird problem is to reboot the system. Reminds me of the CTRL-ALT-DEL move on the computers to reboot them.

Well, this does solve many issues when the car has a glitch but there is an easier way that digging down under the carpet, unfastening the negative lead, waiting for a few minutes , then reconnecting the lead, and reinstalling the carpet.

This will do the same thing as the battery cable procedure!

To do the ALT-CTRL-DEL to the car, use your owner's manual to find the location of your TCM/ECM fuse , unplug it for a few minutes, put the fuse back in and you should reboot. Disconnecting the battery negative terminal achieves the same result, but that is a bit more time consuming.

Test your windows. Do they work? You can try your plug again and see if they continue to work. If they don't work, I'd suspicion your mod plug.
