Luk DMF alternative?

Know GM put a Luk dual mass flywheel (DMF) into C7 manuals to help control the engine harmonics when it goes into AFM (4 cylinder) mode while cruising.

Wondering what owners are using to replace the Luk DMF and if not with another DMF, if there is any significant NVH felt in the chassis?

I"ve no idea, but unless someone pipes-up, I"d suggest talking with the vendors who sell replacement flywheels. All the best.

Hi Avanti,

Thank you for the reply.

Already perused the different vendors websites and just found replacement flywheels and no aftermarket DMF offerings. From the reading I've done on the subject, it seems most regard the DMF as too complicated, costly and not as long lasting as a regular flywheel configuration. So when they need to be replaced, most replace it with a regular flywheel from one of the vendors.

Just thought to ask this group in case I missed something.

By the way, killer avatar photo! Now I get your handle on the forum. That must have been quite the project to get done since IMHO, the Avanti was not very aerodynamic or designed for such speed attempts. Nicely done!
