Default Which Tires

Have 2019 Grand Sport Z07 Package. What tires is everyone replacing their sport cup 2's with? And is the traction any better? With my new horsepower gains traction has become an issue!!! Lol!!

For the street RE-71R and Cup 2 are both as about good as it gets for a streetable tire with a significant downgrade in wet performance. RE71R doesn't come in our fitment.

Is traction from a dig the problem? Because you're not really going to ever cure that completely.

Or are you losing traction going into 3rd at WOT? Cup 2s might be heat cycled out.

Was wanting to help it from the dig but I think I may be fighting colder temps as much as anything.

Just a bit off the mark but how do you ZO6 pilots put all that power down in first and second gear? I can see how it works at the track in higher gears but even my bone stock GS breaks traction (on Super Sports) when doing first gear roll-ons. That’s one of the main reasons I decided against the ZO6, there is no place near me to stretch the legs on a ZO6. Not trying to start a fight just asking.

They'll have excellent traction without even having to warm up. Due to this reason, it's my favorite winter time tire. They're quite loud, but I should mention cup 2s are also loud.

R888Rs definitely perform a lot better at the street than on track.. : )

My M4 couldn't put the power down from a dig with almost 200 less hp/tq. I don't even bother on the Z - especially on non-prepped surfaces. On the track though it's amazing.

That makes sense. I think that a lot of folks buy the ZO6 for bragging rights and because they want the baddest, nastiest Corvette that they can afford, all of which is fine with me. I think it’s only fair to acknowledge that passing a big rig on a two lane road with a ZO6 has got to be a spike-the-ball moment.

I think we're all flexing our ***** with any Corvette.

To be fair though, I don't consider 0-60 times at all when I think of a car's performance. From someone who thinks the C7GS is one of the dollar for dollar performance heavy weights, the biggest perk of the C7Z is you get taller gearing and still gain acceleration over the GS. Makes it one of the most lethal cars on any road course even with mediocre driving.

+1, and I have no problems putting the power down with R888Rs even right off there parking lot. I have to say, though, the car was pretty sketchy with PSS tires, and I didn't like it at all.

At the track, there're few cars that can rival C7 Z06 (with cooling mods ).

I bought my Z06/Z07 four years old with the original Cup 2s. They only really seemed to grip when thoroughly warmed up and that was problematic on the street. Maybe the age of tires had something to do with it. Moved to the MPSS ZP as that is what I had on my C6 GS. Happy with the MPSS on the street. Good in the dry and good in the wet. Not as noisy as the Cup 2s. Z06 requires judicious application of the throttle at anything under 50/60 mph.

The Z07 aero probably helps with highway wet driving. As a bonus, friend said I was throwing a huge rooster tail in the rain.
