Can anyone tell me if the GM comp seat is actually useful for a 6 point harness?
I've heard that the openings are too low to be effective for a 6' guy.
I have the BK harness bar installed and it is a little too high for the stock seat openings.

I've been swapping a full containment seat in & out of my GS for track days
and it's a bit of a PITA.
If I leave it in, my wife can't drive the car due to fixed seating.

Any feedback is appreciated before I make a $2k investment.

Depends on if you're 6' due to torso length or due to leg length. In other words, it's fine for some and not for others. Best bet is to find someone that has a car you can sit in. There's a graphic that Bill Dearborn posts on occasion showing the angles the belts can be at. As I recall, the BK bar is fine. The issue is if your shoulders are covering the pass-throughs.

Also keep in mind that the Comp seat will not have the slot for the 6-pt so you'll need to pass them through the rear of the seat and sit on them.

Lastly...The lateral support at the hips will be significantly less than your current seat, even with the harness. Just something to consider.

Thanks for your comments, you confirm my suspicion
that the PITA seat shuffling is the best way to go.
