After 7 years, passenger side head light failed. Local Chevy Parts Department indicated the price for one headlight bulb is a whopping $309.94 and if the Headlight Ballast is bad another $397.92. Bulbs are typically replaced in pairs, especially since the front bumper must be removed. Anyone get a better price?
UPDATE: Someone please explain to me why the OEM bulbs installed in my C7 are priced at $39.99 for 2 bulbs on Amazon. Chevy’s price represents a 2000% increase.
At least they are not retractable. The nylon gears in my C4’s retractable headlights went bad. I removed the headlights and spent all day trying to install brass gears. Finally took them to a shop and they installed the gears for $75 each.
A Tesla driver told me today that a pair of new headlights for his car will cost $1,600 just for the parts.

68,200 miles. The RockAuto.com suggestion gave me some good options on replacement bulbs. I plan to do the job myself, during next oil change, since I have the tools, time, shop manual, YouTube video, and lift.
I had to replace a cracked lenses on my wife's Volvo. Part was $800... after some searching I managed to source a savage part for $300. Long gone are the days of going to the auto parts store for a $10 bulb.
