Default Cordes Performance Racing

Looking for information about this tuner. They are located in Tempe, AZ so its a drive to get up there. The only company I've found in Tucson is Crown Concepts but I'd like to check out some other tuners. I'm located in Tucson, AZ and have a 16 c7 Z51. Car has Borla X pipe, Granatelli Performance Ignition wires, Denso Iridium TT Plugs and AFE CAI. Car hasn't been tuned.

Objective is to have car tuned with RWHP & Torque approaching or exceeding 500.

Hope to find forum members that have used this company and their opinions of the quality of their tunes and installation of additional hard parts. May consider installing additional parts such as headers, throttle bodies and pullies.

Also considering changing out the brake rotors and pads. Considering Hawks with Carbo Tech pads.

Appreciate hearing about your experience at Cordes or recommendations for other tuners to talk with.

CPR is one of the best shops in the country. Ton of reliable, fast cars out of that shop.

Joe is the best you're likely to find in AZ, he knows his stuff. I've bought a good bit of his gear and he is always quick to answer questions via email or phone, great customer service, great products and he's done tons of LT1/LT4 work. Check out his work on youtube, lots of high horsepower builds. NicD on here is his tuner so you can search his posts for examples of his tuning knowledge (which is excellent). Folks all over the country send their cars to him, you won't be disappointed. Joe@CPR is his username here.

I think your ask is pretty high though without more mods, you are probably closer to 400/410 rwhp tuned as you sit on an LT1. Most LT1s need E85 (flexfuel sensor), ported intake manifold, ported throttlebody, headers, and a CAI to get close to 500 rwhp.

I'd recommend getting a tune over at UMS Tuning by Tony. I wouldn't take my car back to Cordes if I was paid to. They don't have good attention to detail and I paid over $1000 in tuning for my C6 Z06 that I could have copy and pasted from the internet. Tony got me squared away and took time to make sure the car drove well and made good power.

I would highly recommend taking it there. I trailered my c7 zr1 from california to arizona just to get it tuned by them.

I'm going to UMS today. I have a pretty simple setup. Soler TB and AFE COI. I also changed the gas pedal to the updated Z06 model and have a Range device. The rest is basicly stock. Headers and X pipe down the road. I'll post here when its done.

Everything was pretty straight forward. Took him a couple hours and I picked up 20ftlb and 22hp. I'm at 432.47ftlb and 414.10 rwhp.total
Torque peaked at about 4000 to 5000. Hp peaked about 5300 to 6000
