Default No NPP exhaust

I'm having issues with my 2019 GS on the track, which is all it is used for. The Valves/Actuators keep failing under high heat.

Anyone just go to a straight muffler without NPP/Valve? Any electrical issues?

After many track cars, trying to simplify my track days.

Just pull the fuse #87 in the front fuse box, make sure the valves spring to the unpowered open position, and don't worry about it. All 4 exhaust outlets will be open. The center outlets are always open, the NPP valves open the outer outlets. Since the outer pipes are straight pipes, they are the path of least resistance and most of the exhaust will exit the outer pipes.

That's what I did. I replaced my stock NPP mufflers with Borla s-type, non-NPP mufflers.

For the NPP actuator electrical connectors, I filled each with dielectric grease, then taped up securely to keep dirt and moisture out, and using a couple cable ties, I secured each one up out of sight and out of the way.

I did not pull the NPP fuse.

This was about a year ago and I have had no issues of any kind.

An "Advanced search" across the C7 Forums will find a lot of threads about this, unfortunately, recurring problem with tracked cars.

Are u sure u are not talking about the AFM actuators behind the muffler ... the NPP actuators are mounted on the mufflers

If it's the AFM , there are many reports of them failing at the track and you can't just un plug them as the will throw codes you have to tune them.out

I have been tracking my C7Z since the 2016 season started and have had no issues with the muffler outlet valve actuators failing. I have at least 5K track miles on the car since then and the actuators work just like they did the day I took delivery of the car. You are the first owner that I have heard of saying the actuators attached to the muffler outlets are failing due to heat. If they are failing the simple solution is to remove them as they don't affect the operation of the car. With the actuators removed the valves will stay open all the time, when you sell the car reinstall the actuators.

I know there are plenty of people with LT1 powered Z51s that are having issues with the actuators on the AFM valves that are located in the muffler inlets but the GS exhaust doesn't have AFM valves.
