Hello everyone, thank you for letting me join the forum.
I have a C7 corvette and I have an issue where my ac compressor clutch is intermittent. I want to replace the compressor but I can't seem to find any info on how it comes out besides dropping the engine cradle.
There is one post on here that mentions removing the alternator and bracket, but when I looked it seemed like that bracket was a part of the water pump and the pulley on the water pump wouldn't allow the compressor to clear anyway. I read something about moving the steering rack, but it seems to me like the water pump needs to come out.
Can anyone give me any help with this? I appreciate it!
In the factory manual, the 2nd step after draining the system is "remove the front cradle". That's not encouraging. I haven't studied it myself, so I can't suggest any tricks or workarounds. Hopefully someone else knows a way.
