I'm new to the forum, I have a 2019 Z06 and I'm currently in the middle of doing long tubes and 15% lower but I always come to this forum for answers so I figured I should join. I'm a little nervous because I've never really done any mods to a car before other than a catback exhaust and I'm curious as to how safe these mods are on my car. I don't really want to grenade my motor. Hopefully I'm overthinking this but if anyone could share there experience I would appreciate it!
First, welcome aboard the Forum! You don't give any indication of how you intend to use your modded car, but if it is essentially for the street, I cannot see any likely need for more than a tune, at most. All the best.
Thanks for the welcome, I plan on hopefully getting out to the track a few times this summer so I will be pushing the car. Most of the time it will be street though. I'm not a huge fan of running meth I think that makes me a little nervous.
Welcome to the board. The stock bottom end is plenty strong. We've pushed the rear end, trans and bottom end to 1000rwhp and plenty other guys have as well. They are plenty tough. Our stage 2 package makes between 675-700 rwhp with just bolt ons. We have plenty running around trouble free.
You'll be fine as long as you get a solid tune, that makes all the difference in longevity. You may want to think about adding a CAI at the same time so it can all be tuned together. The LTs help move exhaust but it's good to pair that with increasing the air coming into the intake to take advantage of that.
I have the jake performance CIA that was dealer installed on my car do you think that is sufficient? I know it's probably not the best out there but I'm assuming it's a step up from stock
That's probably fine with LTs and a 15% lower. You could do something like get an attack blue filter to put in the Jake airbox which will flow a little more air. I've seen a few people do that with good results without a tune even. The tuner can maximize the airflow with it either way though.
