Default Power cinch trunk latch update

Anyone ever try swapping the 2016+ power cinch trunk latch into a 2014 or 2015 Stingray? If so, details please!

I've not heard of anyone doing this and getting it to work.

No can do... the power pull down is integrated into the car electronics communications, thus its not just a simple relay.

There was one forum member that attempted this conversion.

He got a used electric latch, and matching bracket, and had the rear disassembled and mounted them in this '15. He was working on independent electronics to control it and rewiring the rear open and dash open switches, along with the dash light indicator. You see, on the '14 and '15 cars, all this stuff is outside the CANBUS but on the '16 and newer, it is all controlled by the BCM via the CANBUS and other modules (I think). I never saw a post if he got it working.

Might be possible. Look at all the crazy stuff they do on cars in the SEMA shows. Beyond us mortal's abilities.

Yep with time and money anything is possible. The power pull down is clearly in the "not worth it" camp due to all the hoops you need to jump thru to integrate it. I bet the aftermarket isn't even interested in chasing this down due to the niche market of potential customers.

Doing so certainly wouldn't be on my to-do list, since I've found it quite easy (and with nary an electrical glitch) closing such without... for more decades than I'll bother counting.
