Default Discovered I'm missing something?

Had the car on ramps changing out the front lip. I noticed that that were a bunch of "holes" for apparent bolts running from side to side in line with the curved end pieces of flexible air dam. I would seem to be missing the middle section of air dam???

I believe only the base model cars used the full width piece. Some people remove it because it just scrapes on speed bumps and driveways.

Base has the center piece. I removed the 2 side pieces in front of the wheels to stop the constant grinding going up driveways. The two side pieces are only functional at over 100 MPH and I don't get there very often. When you put on a splitter, you can't see the two pieces anyhow.

OP, you didn't say which model Vette you have in order to judge how your car came originally. However, I always leave the things on. GM didn't go to the bother of installing them simply as an irritant to persnickety owners. Granted, they sometimes rub. Indeed, the ones on my C5 are far worse... and, on my own driveway. Admittedly, I finally replaced it on the C5, 17 years later. So, I'm not too concerned about a little rubbing--far less--of the ones on my C7. ENJOY your car!

Thanks for your input. It is a 2019 Grand Sport.

This Chevy document describes what aero parts each model and option should have:

So apparently the GS does not use/have the center piece. I wonder if it would improve anything by having it?
Thanks for the great info.

Not aerodynamically or it would have come on the car.

If you read the chart carefully, the GS without CFV/Z DOES have the center deflector. GS/Z07 option does NOT have the center deflector.

Funny though - my 19GS with NO aero options does not have the center air dam, but does have a flexible center deflector of some kind maybe 12" farther back...

I'm not gonna worry about it. I'm sure I didn't rip off a center deflector.

The center deflector is what they’re talking about, so yours came equipped as it should. If you’re saying you’re missing the poverty splitter in front then yes, you’re missing that. It came on all Stage 1 cars.
