Having a maggie 2650 installed on my basically stock 16z. Just has intake, throttle body and x pipe now. Wondering if the stock fuel system would handle adding the e85 flex tune also to the maggie install? I know a few have added the 2650 to a stock Z.
Nope, the 2650 will push you past the limits of your low and/or high-side fuel pump but you'll be around 650-675 rwhp with just the 2650 swap depending on the tune so, if that's the target and you don't want to mess with fueling upgrades or meth just do the 2650 and enjoy it. You may be able to add a little Ethanol with that but probably not more than E30. Just keep in mind that 685ish rwhp is the max you'll get from your 16's fuel system without meth as an additional fuel source or a cam with a low-side aux pump and bigger injectors to push the low and high sides a bit harder independent of what modification path you choose.
It's a cat and mouse game on the fueling. You can add just the low-side aux pump with the 2650 and flex sensor but you'll then run out of high side, you should get past 700 rwhp with that but probably not more than 750 and still won't let you run full E85 so you'll be blending down to E40 or 50. From there it's a bigger hpfp with injectors to match and/or a cam with the injectors. The injectors and cam will cost you about the same as the 2650 installed though. It's expensive to get over 700 rwhp on these cars without meth.
A cam and low side upgrade is usually the next most logical step. Like mentioned above 700-750rwhp is about all you'll get out of the fuel system on 93. Adding E85 drops that number considerably.
If you want to avoid getting a cam you can look into the Lingenfelter high side but it isn't night and day better then the LT4 pump. A good cam with a 32 or 38% overdrive is really the way to go.
Meth and/or 100 octane is your friend on these LT4s.
