Default Torque Converter #%*=+

Always something!! 2015 A8......Converter replaced at 4,000 miles..worked on a couple times since then......My car is pretty heavily modified
and I guess I’m lucky it lasted this long...One of the Local Dealerships I deal with here in West Palm Beach had 15 cars sitting in lot waiting for Transmission work......didn’t want car sitting out in open for 2 weeks at dealer just to be checked out....Performance shop that helped with Build on my car checked it out and recommended a Circle D triple disc pro series with a 2800 -3000 stall.....Haven’t got exact order number for it yet. Don’t want to go with another GM converter..Quite a few people I know have had problems,Trucks,Vettes,Camaros etc....Good price and work done pretty quick...what do you think...Circle D good stuff?

Yes. Very good stuff from what I hear. Do your due diligence but I personally have never heard a bad thing about them. I’ll be installing one when my stock unit takes a dump.

Thanks. Going with a 2800 stall. See what happens,I’m sure my cam can handle it and it should shift like stock

Redline installed my 4000 stall Circle D a few months back on my Procharged 15 Stingray. My torque converter was bad ... surging, clunking and learching from roughly 4000 miles (bought car new) all the way through to 30,000 miles. I knew at some point I was going to upgrade the converter anyways so I didn’t even bother with bringing my car back to the dealer.
I would recommend going a little higher of a stall ... if you are NA or centrifugal SC. **** even on a stock A8 Stingray I would suggest a 3800 stall from Circle D.
I’ve had many high stall Corvettes and the Circle D converters are the best of the best.
BTW.... post up your mods here so others can learn

that’s cool....Redline does my stuff...Mine is doing 981 HP to motor...Read my signature and it lists all the goodies.. are you still in this area? I do a lot of Cruise ins and car shows around here...and a few Street races once in awhile 😲 .Redline said I should go with a 2800 or 3000 stall...

Sorry, didn’t see your mod list. Nice build you have for sure !! What low side fuel system are you running ? I don’t really do car shows but do cruise A LOT with my wife and other car guys including vettes. All modified 😎
My car has been to track quite a bit but street racing is what I do and enjoy the most. Not ricer racing fast & furious stuff. Back road and I-95 things 😃 Every week BTW
Back to your car..... I went with a higher stall for many reasons but it is tricky with high power street cars. I just put on Hoosier 335/30/18’s on my Stingray and at this point I still need to learn the car on the street vs my old 315’s. 100% sure you’ll be happy with a 3000 stall for all around track and street vs stock converter. But, once you start booking at the track you will be looking for the higher stall for sure 😎
