Default Maintenance C7

Hello everyone and thank you for your welcome, I don't know where to look but I would like to find the service booklet for a 2015 C7 Stingray.
Please, can you give me a link to find all the revisions to be done during the next years?
Thanks a million to everyone, thank you USA, you have made a wonderful car !!!!!!
Kind regards :-)

Gil

Wow all the way France, very cool! Paris was such an awesome place, as well as Versailles

i just downloaded my 2016 owners manual, even though i have the paper one.

it was helpful since i could search it while online

https://www.corvsport.com/wp-content...corvette-1.pdf

https://www.manualslib.com/manual/91...-Corvette.html

it has pretty decent information for sure on maintenance, its not a "service manual" though, I couldnt find that for free since they usually cost money. hope that helped

ebay seemed to have a few workshop, or service books online for various pricing.

And yes a rare enthusiast of the USA and your cars :-)

That's really nice, Thanks a lot mdformula350 for these precious files for me, now I know what to do and at what km. The garages here are unable to know because they have never seen a Corvette, what a shame.
I'm going to look on Ebay for the other technical manuals, this will be useful for me to do the fluid maintenance.

Welcome. I love your country. Ive done a roadtrip from north to south. Wish I could have done it in my C7 rather than the crappy Vaux rental. If you search, most basic maintenance DIYs have been covered in various threads.

Damn it! I'm fumbling with maintenance !!!! and I'm an idiot !!!!

Here I am again for a nice mistake I made last week: Checking the oil level when cold as we do here, then on C7 we do it when hot, (of course, like an idiot I looked at the manual after !!!!)
Result I saw a very low level and I added oil and of course the next day at the start I have a beautiful oil gersey under the bonnet and on the engine.
The engine only ran for 20 seconds but it was enough.
After having pumped the oil and cleaned everything up, I warmed up the engine to the right temperature, then stopped and waited 10 minutes to make the right level.

Did I do everything right or wrong?

It's been a week since I had a few drops of oil on the floor of the garage, did I make a big mistake and damage something? (a crankcase seal?)

This afternoon I'm going to raise it up and have a look, I'll let you know.

Thanks for the contact ;-)

Thank you very much in advance,

Good day to all, see you soon

Gil - which motor do you have wet sump or dry sump? Im guessing the latter as the oil level measurement procedure is different. Dont feel bad. A lot of GM dealers mess this up.

Very good guess, it's the dry sump, LT1 engine.
Thank you very much for this reassuring answer.
I see that the dealerships are a bit wrong too.

I was worried about those regular drops on the floor, this afternoon I had a good look underneath, from everywhere.
A lot of residual oil between the sheets, the small corners, in short everywhere, that I sponged, wiped during one hour to dry everything.
I'm going to drive a bit and see if the oil comes back, I'll let you know.
Did the oil come out of the dipstick?
After this beautiful mistake, I still pumped to remove 2 litres to have the right level, I'm not proud!

Have a nice day and thanks again.

Sincerely, Gil

My dealer over filled my dry sump and I was unaware of it until I was driving spiritedly and it set off my check engine light. I did some investigating and found engine oil in the air intake system. There was so much oil that it saturated my air filter. I ended up having to clean my air intake system, the MAF sensor, and replace my air filter. The good thing is that it did not damage my engine and after I cleaned everything and replaced my air filter all has been fine. So in summary, you have likely not damaged anything either but it might be worth making sure that your air intake system contains no oil.

Good luck!

Gilbert,
The proper way to drain the system is to remove both oil pan drain plugs (yes, there are two). One plug drains the oil pan and the other drains the dry-sump reservoir. Once you have done that and changed the filter (without preoiling the filter) add 8 litres of oil to the engine and run the engine until the OIL Temperature (not coolant temperature) reaches at least 175 degrees (80 C). Once the oil is above 80 then shut off the engine and wait 5 minutes before checking the oil. Once 10 minutes has expired you will need to run the engine and maybe bring the oil temperature back up. I use that 5 minute period to check the oil with the dipstick and add sufficient oil to top off the oil level to the top dot on the dipstick. The best way to have your garage do the job is to provide written instructions and then watch them do it at least once. If you want to preoil the filter before installing it you won't need as much oil to top off the system. The filter holds about a half-liter of oil.

Bill, do you know if the procedure you described for the C7 dry sump on the LT -1 also applies the the LS3 dry sump? When changing oil when the car is warmed up, would it be a good idea open the upper plug first before draining from the pan or the other way around and do the lower plug first? I don’t have one pan that holds 10+ quarts so that would be another reason to open the plugs one at a time in order to use two drain pans. What do you think?
