Recommended every 7500 miles or 1/2 of that?

Just follow the OLM. The car will tell you when its needed.

Don't overthink it - when the message pops up on the dash change the oil. There is a time and combustion event calculation so its not just mileage.

I do it when the car tells me to or once a year which every comes first.

The OLM will tell you to change it once per year or more frequently depending on your driving conditions. In essence, the time based component of the OLM will count down to 0% after 12 months even if vehicle has not driven any miles.

Correct. Before COVID when I was driving to work every day I got 7,500 miles before the message popped up. But with so little driving over the last year I'll only get 4,000 miles before it times out again.

Just had my 2014 Z51 done at a local shop in SE Massachusetts that specializes in Vettes, charged me $129.

DONT DO 7500. The most you should go is 3500-4000. don't be fooled, change it often , you'll be happy!!!
