Took a cruise today back up camera worked fine. Had to go to work for a while and on the way home the center screen said service rear vision . Not sure what happened it seemed to work fine when I backed into the garage. 2014 Z51 A6. Anyone else run into this?
I had the same thing happen to me. I cleaned all of the connectors when I installed a diffuser on the car and haven't had a problem since. It didn't take too long to fix either.

So I have seen this pop up a few times, and I have heard two different things. The service department told me that this message pops up if the camera is dirty. It didn't make much sense to me; I have also heard this message pop up due to voltage issues. The only reason I believe this was because before I swapped out my battery, I got this message more frequently. Also, when I installed my headers, I cracked a spark plug rookie mistake of not removing them before pulling the headers out. When I crunk the car up, that same message came up, including service rear end, pretty much every light on the dash, lol. These cars seem to be real sensitive to voltage changes.
Maybe one of the many electrical gremlins that come and go... many make an appearance or two and may never show again. My C7 blinker sound is like that--disappeared a few times, but always back in a short while. All the "fixes" noted here at the Forum may or may not be relevant to too much hassle since the blinker always works fine. And, I'm still awaiting the second appearance of one in my C5 nearly 20-years later that the dealer couldn't rectify, though they saw some evidence of it for an instant on the DIC. Ain't digital systems and Quantum Field Theory great!
