I want to install a MGW Shifter but not 100% confident in my abilities to do the install correctly, so I was wondering if any of you have some recommendations for a place to install it in the Palm Springs/Coachella Valley area? Any help would be much appreciated, TIA!
I can't help with shop recommendations in your area, but I can tell you the install is pretty straightforward and doesn't require extensive/expert mechanical ability. There are a number of tutotials and videos available including these...
Thanks so much for that NortonCO, I really appreciate it. I am pretty mechanically minded BUT really would prefer to get a seasoned professional to do it, just in case (you know what I mean).

I can relate! I had an MGW installed in my GT500 because the process involved loosening the transmission mounts and "adjusting" stuff from underneath. I assumed the C7 would be similarly (or even more) complicated, but was wrong. The job took me a few hours (because I was going very slowly, consulting online tutorials at every step). Having done so, I can tell you it was much simpler than I thought it would be.
Obviously, you should go whatever direction you're comfortable. This is, however, a very manageable DIY, especially if you're somewhat mechanically inclined. Whatever path you choose, I'm sure you'll be happy with the MGW upgrade. Good luck!
I have confidence in most of my mechanic abilities but when it comes to interior trim pieces and delicate stuff not as much, however, with taking my time and using the many videos on you tube i had everything taken off within 2 hours or so, took time to clean parts and areas as well. installing, adjusting and putting stuff back together took another 2 hours. I basically had an entire day set forth to accomplish this and if things went south i would of placed the stocker back in and went somewhere, etc..
good luck! and such a worthy modification to have, huge difference in terms of throw and positive shifts. it is more firm but i like that so i am more confident when shifting to be firm back to it.
If you can physically turn a wrench it’s an easy do it yourself project. The video shows exactly how to do it. If one can change their oil they can do it.

Put a laptop down on the passenger seat and follow the video step by step pausing it in between steps.
You could always post in the regional section and see if someone local will help you. I once offered someone local to come over my house, use my tools and I would supervise the shifter install (he never followed up). It really is that easy.
