Default Tuner Q: Best Tuning Method for Simple Tune Change

I have tried to research this question, but I am not getting what I read and so I am seeking the advice from the experts.

I have a pretty much stock '15 Z51. The only major mods to the engine are a Dewitt's Radiator and Fan, and a 170 degree stat. She runs at 168 pretty constantly if the AC is on so the fan runs max. If I turn off the AC, it will run hotter of course because the fan does not run as much.

I wanted to get recommendations for a tune just to change the fan to better match the 170 stat.

From what I read, tuning software like HP tuners can modify the fan table. But I guess there is no single value that can change the stat value in the tune. But I am wondering if there are simpler options I can use to adjust the fan.

I have read that some tuning solutions can turn off AFM, so I could take off the Range I use. So that would be good.

What "Home Use" tuning solution would you recommend by a tuning novice for these two changes, without going to a professional tuner in person.

Thank you in advance.

Not a tuner so I can't help, but I recommend checking out the HPTuners forum as well.

These cars don't need to run less than 195 degrees for maximum power. Interesting choice of mods even if you road race. There are a few tables that need to be changed via HPTuners to accomplish what you're looking for. There is no home grown solution other than to ot sire the fan on a toggle switch but that is foolish IMO.

Diablo I3 tuner will allow you to turn off your AFM.
I think that it will also allow you to set fan speed but am not 100% sure.
Go to their website and look up what the I3 can do.
I use mine just to turn off the AFM.

bad move on the colder t-stat... it will not allow the engine to get up to normal operating temps - which is not good on these engines... these engines like to run a little warmer and make more/better power... go back to the stock t-stat man... and then via a tune, the fan power % can be adjusted as needed... but don't change the t-stat....

Stay away from handhelds tuning options. Go with hp tuners get your own dongle. This way you never have to pay for licensing more than once unless you lose the OBD2 plug. You will see a system tab/fans/ and make your changes to temperature vs what percentage you want your fans on. Other minor changes can be done. If you have the hp tuners dongle you can get a remote tune but you do need a wideband because Chevy is still in the stone age and do not have built in wideband.

An I3 Diablo handheld tuner will not void your warranty if you flash it back to stock unlike other tuner that will leave a CVN change that GM can detect that the engine was tuned at some point.
