I ran a Borla Cat less X Pipe and didn’t need a Tune. To my understanding there is no monitoring done after main Cats and not necessary. I was very happy with the sound after install with it being a little louder and Tone change.

I'd be real leary of deleting the mufflers in Va. You go to a station and your exhaust is louder than 98% of the cars they work on, put it on a lift, and those missing mufflers and the replacement pipes will be very, very obvious. The catless x pipe will be much less obvious especially if you can find a manufactured one rather than having a muffler shop make one up.

Thanks! So, no noticeable change in the cars performance? .... other than just sound. Is that correct?

Yes only sound change. If there is any HP change you wouldn’t feel it.

Reminds me that in the early 90's I had a C3 in VA. I had to put the catalytic converter back on each year to pass the test. Back then we installed the "catalytic converter test pipe" from JC Whitney. Ah, the good old days.

It is true that the rear cats are not monitored, but the AFM valves are and if you remove those in the muffler area you will fail emissions testing. Some of the muffler systems provide a dummy block to simulate AFM valves working for the cars computer.

Have an AFE CAI, Soler ported TB, and AWE catless x-pipe. I did the on line Diablo Lew (Eaton) tune and his little bit of work really helped. Also, he turned off the AFM and CAGS. Bumped the idle up to 800 which makes rolling from a stop easier. Also have the Mild to Wild switch running through my garage door buttons-defaults to loud.
Car runs great for a minimal amount of mods.

Very happy with the x-pipe I got off eBay (Manzo), that with M2W and I'm very please with the exhaust. Looked far and wide for Corsa, Borla, Awe. Nothing left besides used for those.

Untrue. That will set off one of the P codes. I don't remember which one. You can look it up. 0430 I think.

Uhmmm no. There is no O2 sensor after the secondary cats on the mid pipe.

My mistake, It's in the downtube, not the x-pipe ahead of the secondaries.

Doesnt look like they have the manzo on ebay anymore either. If I ask an exhaust shop to make a custom x pipe what should I ask for? A custom x pipe without secondary cats?

Kooks has one that will bolt up to the factory system and Lg motorsports just came out with one.
