Door latch problem
I have a 2014 convertible and I got locked in for the first time. Used the cable to get out. Latch seems to be defective. It will not operate with door button or lock/ unlock buttons. Yes the buttons are good and battery in fob and car is good. I ordered new latch asy and it will work with all lock/ unlock buttons except the fob. When you press a button on the fob it seems to cycle but doesn’t do anything. The latch part no is 2289889. There is another latch for the same vehicle # 2289887 with lock control. They both say they will work with my vin. I have called numerous gm dealers and no one can tell me anything. Does anyone have an idea of what “ with lock control” is? Thx

Can you unlock the passenger side door or open the trunk using the FOB? Have you walked around the car trying to open things from the rear and the passenger side?
Problems with the remote functions may set body codes but you will need a GM MDI scanner or equivalent to be able to read those codes. An OBD II scanner won't be able to read them.
The lock control is for the AF8 antitheft feature. Your part numbers aren't correct. GM part numbers have 8 characters Vs the 7 you show.
