Default Existing curb camera issue

Hello - I just bought a 2017 z06, z07, 3lz. It has front curb cameras. The projector image for the front cameras is gray and doesn't show the front image at all. I noticed that the passenger side camera has a broken lens. The back camera works.
Would the cracked lens distort the entire picture or just the right side view? How do you replace the camera in the front grill? If it is not the cracked camera, what is the next likely issue?
thanks much - back to a Corvette after getting mis directed in Viper world...

The circuitry feeding the two front cameras is separate for each camera. The diagnostic procedure indicates that if one of the cameras is bad the display will still display the video from the other camera. However, the circuitry from both cameras does go through two common connectors before being fed into the video module. You may want to see if one of those connectors has been disconnected. The module could be bad but I suspect that being able to see the rear camera display is a good but not total indication the module is OK.

If you can get access to a scanner that has the same capabilities as the GM MDI tool used by dealerships you should be able to see codes related to the front cameras and the video module. OBDII scanners aren't useful since this involves brand-specific GM body codes. Codes are necessary for diagnosing this issue.

Thanks Bill - I see that there are GM MDI tools available for around $200. I will wait for the service manual I ordered and then see about connections, etc.

Would here happen to be a fuse that is dedicated to the front curb camera?

Is it possible to swap the camera plugs at the video module to troubleshoot?

We know the rear camera works. What happens if you unplug it and plug one of the front cameras into that port?

The front cameras are powered directly from the video module in the trunk. There's a fuse for that module. If your rear camera is working, then the fuse is good.

You can't swap cameras without taking the pins out of the connector. I wouldn't recommend that. It's too easy to damage something if you haven't done it before.
