OK, so I feel like a complete moron asking this. I need to replace the clips that hold one of the interior pieces to the roof of my 2016 Z06. The bodyshop had to remove the trim piece and the clips broke. I'm a total amateur when it comes to working on cars. I can't for the life of me figure out how to remove the old clips. I've attached a pic showing the yellow one that's still on and the new one, in the background, I need to attach. I've tried pushing and pulling and squeezing and can't get the old one to budge. I don't want to try to forcefully in case I break part of the interior trim piece. Is there some special technique? Thanks.
It slides from one side. You have to slightly pry down the backside of the clip when sliding off. The tab with the edge will stay locked on otherwise. In your pic you would pry down the left side and slide to the right.
I agree; press the left tab down and slide it to the right. Even in your picture one can see the beginning curve of the slot into which the clip is inserted. Sometimes these things are maddening.
