Recently dealer replaced both cats that melted under warranty after half a season of HPDE. . I’m guessing they weren’t careful to route wire safely away from cats. Last day at track there a ton of codes. Fuse 15 was blown. Found the male and female connector totally melted together and the harness to the car had bare wires. Below you can see where I’m at now. I cut the connectors off and tried to separate the wires best I could. Hard to reach with cat in the way.
suggestions moving forward ? I have a new o2 I can use and also have two big daddy sims. If wires are left bare I’m quite certain it will blow fuse again.
Yes, you will need to make sure the wires do not touch and have premium heat shielding. I have my rear o2 sensors passed above the tunnel heat shield and covered in a 1600* wrap (the 1000*didn't work)
also I had to wrap the AC line on the right side because I melted it
PM me with your email and I can send a link and pictures if you want

Pm sent.
ac line melted ?! That had to be fun. Lost your gas ? Ones looking at other.hoses under there and wondered about them too.
To at least get back on track next Monday maybe just pull wires back and insulate them ? Would keep them from shorting and blowing fuse. With fuse blown it wouldnt come out of reduced power mode. Fuse 15 causes all kinds of errors when blown.

I'd solder the wires together and use heat shrink tubing around the individual wires and a larger piece around the bundle. Next, wrap with heat wrap from DEI. Lastly, route as best as possible.

Agreed. After further conversation with Chevy dealer I work with he said I def need the upstream o2 sensors working. So hard to reach the wires with the cat in the way. Finger tips. I still need to pull wires out further to even identify.
I got new o2 sensor , picking up connector from dealer tomorrow for harness side. Will increase length a bit so I can route it better. Give it a shot tomorrow and see if I can do it with downpipe in the way. 🤞

thank you.
defiantly not easy working in there. One thing I found was stainless zip ties to keep things where I put them (Harbor freight)
Yes I was thanks ! Tested on track and had no more codes. Pita. Had to remove downpipe to get to it.
then I found an even worse spot. Passenger rear above exhaust between transmission 🤯. Large harness. Plastic shell totally melted and the plugs melted through. Lucky the wires hadn’t melted yet !

I second what Ernie said. I ran my rears on top of the heat shield, so far haven't had any issues "Knock on wood." I noticed that some wires near the fuse box showed some heat damage, so I also wrapped those.
I always lift the car about every quarter just to verify either looks ok.
