Lost of communication with chassis control module. Where can I find information on where’s it located and what it’s purpose? I did a thread search but did not see much?
The chassis control module is located to the left of the battery, but unless you have an actual failure symptom or other DTCs, I recommend that you just ignore it.
Experiencing any symptom(s)? One would think there would be more than an error code, unless possibly it is an intermittent issue. Did you try clearing the code? If so, did it clear... return? Have you tried disconnecting the ground cable at the battery and reconnecting? If nothing works to permanently eliminate the code at some point you may be looking at a new module.
Btw, here's the kind of things it typically does in GM vehicles: "The BCM communicates with other on-board computers via the car's vehicle bus, and its main application is controlling load drivers – actuating relays that in turn perform actions in the vehicle such as locking the doors, flashing the turn signals (in older cars), or dimming the interior lighting."
I had a ZL1 have this issue before. Turned out the aftermarket throttle body was misaligned and scraping on the bore and wouldn't close properly. No idea why it caused this code but there was another code related to the throttle body as well. Once the issue was corrected, neither code returned.
