2019 A8 shifting question
I have a 2019 Z51 with the auto 8 speed trans. When coming to a stop in auto mode, the trans downshifts from 3rd to 1st. It never goes into 2nd gear, ever. It goes thru all the other gears without skipping any. Is this normal for this trans?

If you think that’s abnormal you should drive my F-150. It will always shift from first to third when leaving a stop. Third through tenth are selected normally. It never selects second unless you’re towing.
