Default C7 z51 M7 start up issue

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum here. I recently just bought a 2019 manual Z51. So I'm still getting used to the clutch and I stalled the car with the steering wheel turned and when I went to start it up again it was having a hard time to start I had to start it twice and the 2nd time it started. With the steering wheel straight it starts perfectly fine. The car has 2 months of bumper to bumper warranty left and I have 2 more years of power train warranty. I have made an appointment at my local Chevy dealer to get this looked at.

Anyone ever run into this issue? I also think the dealer probably didnt use 94 octane when they filled up.

That's a weird one....never heard of that issue before...and I can't think of a reason why the car would start differently when the wheel isn't straight....
The gas used has nothing to do with this.

Never heard of that one but so far I never had to start mine with the steering wheel turned. If the dealer can't duplicate it, they probably won't be able to help much.

Any possibility it was something else. My non-Z51 19 w/ M7 has to have both clutch and brake pedals depressed to start it. I guess I must do that automatically most of the time but once I stalled it when the light went green. I was barely costing through the intersection, truck on my butt, pushed in the clutch to fire it and nothing. I had to hit the brake also to get it to fire up. At that speed I came to a complete stop. Not fun.

That could be a possibility. I am going to try and see if it does the same thing again today.

I tried to re create the start up issue and i couldn't get it to happen again...I do notice that going from neutral to 1st gear isnt smooth. I usually go to 2nd and then 1st gear and its smooth. Anyone else have that?

well the M7 cars really start to shift better when fully warmed up.
a few tend shift into 3 and 4 to get things moving and the try to get into first.
or like u mentioned second into first.
also i think i tend to be too gentle when shifting or putting in gear. I dont mean like slam it but something im just not firm enough.

Yes, first and second are real notchy when the transmission is cold. I never try and put the car in first if it's moving, ever.....I will roll to a stop in second or even neutral then come to a complete stop and put it in first.

It's a 19 so you probably didn't have the brake and clutch pressed in together and it started weird.

Enjoy the car, it's fine.

Yeah i was gonna tell chevy to do it. Car is at 27,000kms now. Would they put OEM tranny oil in it or can i tell them a specific oil to use?

im replacing my trans and rear end fluids with just factory ac delco. most likely the dealer will only use delco to replace. i highly doubt they will install something else unless you really know them and provide acceptable aftermarket stuff...

Simple enough to check... someplace out of the way (home?), try to duplicate the problem a few times. I'm guessing it most likely won't happen again. All the best, in any event.

They probably use oem but it won't hurt to ask.
