Default What are your thoughts?

I would like some input from forum members on a couple of things I’m considering doing to my 2014 Lime Rock Green, Z51, 3LT, Corvette.
  1. installing Z06 style Side Skirts. Will this add to the appearance or should I leave as is? See picture.
  • Are there any LRG Vettes with side skirts out there?
  • If I do go with the skirts, black or a Carbon Flash look? My dash is factory CF. I’m leaning toward just black.
  • Suggestions on a manufacturer of the skirts that won’t break the bank.
2. I’ve been reading and watching YouTube videos regarding adding a Engine Oil Catch Can. Any thoughts?

Well after doing a lot of reading on this sight regarding “Catch Cans”, and much of it WAY above my knowledge level, if the LT1 engine is stock a can is not needed. I’ll just leave it at that. Just less money I’ll need to spend on my C7!😜👍

I love the LRG and yours looks great especially with the brown interior and top. In my opinion i think the side skirts would look odd without putting a front splitter on. Car looks clean the way it is. Only thing I would change is to remove the front license plate. I live in ma and only put mine on for the inspection sticker and then remove it. I don’t have an educated thought on the catch can but seems that it is not necessary if car is stock and you don’t race the car.

I don't like side skirts at all. You can get away with the look on the wide bodies but on the sleeker Stingray they look like crap. They detract from the sleek lines of the Stingray sports car. You have a relatively unique Stingray that is an eyecatcher as is. Why screw it up with aftermarket addons? Save your money for gas. You're going to need it!

I can remove my license plate in about 10 seconds which I do for car shows. However I live on the Cape and am real Leary of the police here as they will pull you over for not having the front LP displayed. Also during the Summer in the height of the vacation season, then police are all over. Thanks for your input on the side skirts.

After thinking about it a bit, your comment about being on a narrow body Stingray makes sense .

Default Looks good as is!

Why ruin the appearance of this awesome looking C7 Stingray?

It is one of the nicest I have seen!!

maybe get some tinted/smoked side markers?
maybe a front stage 1 factory gs/z06 splitter? might add just a tad extra to the front end.

We all get the itch to do some accessorizing from time to time. I'm no exception. If you haven't done so already, how about a nice engine dress up kit?

ASC makes a nice product. I would say to have them painted the same color as the car.

If I do decide to install side skirts, my color is so dark I think black would work just fine. Yours in white looks real nice however. No concerns looks wise after installation on yours of it not being a wide body?

No. Everybody that has seen it before and after likes it better with the side skirts, especially me. Mine are the Z06 style and they certainly do a good job of keeping road junk off the paint.

Your car is stock DO NOT MISS WITH IT ON A CATCH CAN the car doesnt need it the stock PCV system will take care of your car. But with the z51 car JUST RUN IT 1/2 qt low on the oil with the car at warm are at least 180 deg temp on it & let the car sit for 5 mins when you check it on the level. Robert

I'm not a fan of skirts, but I'd go body color; just my nickel's worth. No, you do not need a catch-can though as you've seen this debate has raged since at least the C5 (as was my first Vette I didn't get a catch-can for, which I still own without issue 21 years later). All the best!

Beautiful car. If you want to keep front license plate on car , might I suggest the aero plate (front grill opening cover). Plate fits into it, and unit is recessed into grill. Much sleeker. And if you drill two holes through license plate, it is easily removed at any time. Genuine GM part.

I personally do not think that side skirts and a front splitter ruin the lines of the Corvette; Especially if they're factory carbon flash parts. I'd actually contest it will compliment them. Of course, everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but I prefer the look.

Is your car an automatic or M7?

First and foremost.... your Car is stunning .
Side Skirts like most mods are based on personal preference, I feel that the car looks like it is missing something without them. I did the Carbon Flash Skirts Z06 style from ACS and couldn't be happier.
Mind you, my Car is Torch Red and it goes very well with Carbon Flash accessories

I also have an LRG - but it's a coupe. I am going to add the front splitter, and probably will add the side skirts, too. But, I am not adding them for the appearance... it's to help prevent rock chips for me. I do like the idea of painting it body color, so it's a subtle accent, rather than a different color "enhancement".
