New tot eh C7 world. Reading others posts regarding the edgy Corvette mods. I'm not one to throw forced induction on my car as daily reliability and trouble free vehicles are most important to me.
But, I'm seeing these mods do not throw check engine lights? Having a flex fuel option seems like low hanging fruit, but will my dash light up? Actual flex fuel vehicles are highly calibrated. Having a simple plug and play seems a bit snake oilish to me.
Could I get some real world feed back regarding the Edgy Corvette intake/Flex fuel/Throttle body have been? If I do mod my Vette it would be simple (don't they all start that way?). Again, I want the car to perform and not throw codes because of mods.
Also regarding a dyno tune. Are our PCM's tunable from the factory or would I require something else?
Flex fuel is not plug and play. The tables will have to be turned on in the computer as well as a dyno tune.Gains are pretty good considering the cost.If you are going to do it I would do all the mods I was going to do at 1 time to avoid having to pay for several retunes. As far as codes,if done correctly there will be no codes or lights involved.Dollar for dollar, forced induction is probably the best option,You won't notice any driveability issues until you push hard on the right pedal!

"tables turned on in the computer"? Please expound on this. Am I reading correctly the factory computer has flex fuel capability but is locked out from the factory? Then assuming our fuel system is fully E85 compatible top to bottom?
The ability is already there.Flex fuel sensor will be needed as well as having it wired to the factory computer. It needs to be turned on and the tables adjusted.

This is exactly correct. I run flex/E85 in my 17 ZL1, 18 Tahoe 6.2, and 19 Z06. All 3 vehicles run perfectly on any mix of 91/E85.
Just to confirm, is the rest of the fuel system fully E85 compatible? If it isn't things will begin getting expensive after a year or two. How long have you guys been running your systems?

That is correct. I am running the stock fuel system in all 3 of my vehicles.

got a 14 c7.was on e85 for 2 years but had to get off of it the last 2 cuz having a blower installed I ran outta fuel system. Back on it again and soo happy! Luv the stuff!!
OP to answer your question, yes the fuel system is fully capable of running E85. The fuel wont cause any issues at all to the fuel system.
Then as said, you will need to purchase a E85 kit, get it installed, then someone will need to get into the ECM and turn on the E85 settings and codes as well as modify some of the tables in the ECM. once all that is done it is as easy as filling up the tank and driving as long as it is a LT1, on a LT4 (Z06) you cant run full E85 so you have to run a blend and that takes some math at each fill up but can be done pretty easily.
My 16 Sierra 6.2 has ran E85 for nearing 5 years.
My 17 Camaro SS 1LE with a Procharger ran E85 for 3 years
My current toy car a 19 C7Z has ran E85 for 18 months now
This seems like a no brainer then. The only hang up being an able and competent tuner. I live in NE Indiana. Anyone know someone within a few hours of me whose done this before?? Indy/Toledo/Ann Arbor, etc.
