I just bought a 2014 Z51 package with 85k on it. I would not say the miles bother me but as I consider doing mods, I wonder if I would be better off just saving the money I would do on mods now and plan on having a motor built. I have kicked around the idea of forced induction and NA. I see some NA packages out there hitting pretty close to some forced induction on a stock motor. Curious on who I should consider for a project if I went that route. Thanks
I am still feeling what that means I guess. I haven't dyno'd a stock c7 to know. Are they around 400ish whp? I have the M7. Right now I think my goal would be to have a low 10's 1/4 car here in Phoenix. I used to do scca stuff and nasa stuff where I lived before I moved here. I then had a 2013 ZL1 that was around 750hp and going through a set of Michelin SS at a road course in a day and a half is a pain my wallet doesnt want experience anymore lol. A fun car at the track if I want to go and not the slowest one in my pack. I am sure that is where everyone starts. Where they end up is a different story.
Back in the day, the car hits 100K and you are done. Not so much today. I did have my 91 L98 get worn out at 100K. So, maybe hit a middle of the road solution? Do mods but make sure you can transfer it or as much of it as possible?
Figure out what you want it to do and how much money you have to spend and find yourself a tuner to help guide you to what needs to be done. You will need him to tune it anyways.
^^^^ I agree with this guy but then again with 85,k if you are going to drive it like you stole it. Save the $$ then talk to a good builder & tuner & go from that. But for other car parts in the c7 keep the rwhp in the low 600 at max.
Unless you have more money for other parts that will soon break if you get into bigger # in the car. Robert
