Default E85 mod

I am thinking about adding this to my car. I have no other perf mods done and I am leaning towards the Lethal kit because I like how it looks once installed, I am assuming that all the kits pretty much work and function the same.

for those of you that have done this mod, given the cost of the tune to make it work, do you feel it was worth it?

First mods I done were headers,E85(Dsx kit). I picked up around 25-30 rwhp on dyno between 93 and E85. I also run catless and fumes were not enjoyed by wife,E85 fumes go basically unnoticed.By adding the kit you will have best of both worlds cuz you can use whichever fuel you want and computer will accommodate. The gas mileage will take a hit but being E is a 1.25 cheaper a gallon here it works out about the same maybe a bit better. No complaints at all.

I certainly think that E85 is worth doing. I have converted my 19 Z06, 18 Tahoe 6.2, and 17 ZL1. I've had no issues with any of those cars.

I used the DSX kit on my Z06 and ZL1. I found the Lethal kit after I had installed the DSX kit. I think that the Lethal kit looks a little cleaner installed, but they all function the same.

It depends where you are located. The spread between 91 and E85 is about $1.60 here ($2.99 vs. $4.64).

100% flex fuel is worth it. Every car I tune gets E85.

I aint interested in the cost of corn or E85 as compared to gas. I want to do it for the performance gains, be they a little or somewhat good. I did not buy my Stingray as a fuel saver, could care less as to what mpg it gets.

I went the flex route to get the performance increase with the benefit of cooling. Pulley adds the performance, but also additional heat. In my humble opinion it is a good mod. I went with: Kooks headers, Halltech CAI, Solar TB, CPR heat exchanger, and DSX flex sensor with a tune. I was able to get E55 before the pressure started to drop.

@Buddy A care to share what your tune produced with your combo?

93 tune was 627/631. E55 tune was 642/660 on a back to back dyne run with very little time to cool. Pat told me I could let the engine cool down and run the dyne again and the numbers would probably be a little higher, but the tune was where it needed to be.

Headers, Intake, Ported TB, Flex Fuel and a 2.38 upper pulley with a tune is the magic bullet for performance vs $$ vs heat generation vs amount of Ethanol you can run for a mild setup. I tune these all day long and they run hard. The 2.38 pulley adds some punch with the Flex Fuel without over heating the blower so much that you need to install a heat exchanger. 2019's can run E55 on this setup but the earlier years will need to stick to about E40 or install a low side solution such as the JMS booster or DSX low side. I'm a fan of the JMS booster if you're not going to push the car much further than this.

what would this setup make on a dyno jet? 2.38/ cai/ headers/ e40-e50

I can't speak for specific dyno's, but this combo would put down around 80-100 more HP and TQ at the wheels vs stock on a regular dyno jet(usually slightly higher torque gains vs HP). Could be more, could be less depending on the dyno. The real story is you go from a 7.5 second 60-130 draggy time to a 6.5 second 60-130 draggy time. The power increase is VERY noticeable. It's my favorite street setup that I recommend to all the guys I tune for that just want the car to behave like stock but really pack an extra punch. Using the GripTec ZPE shrink fit hub, the blower doesn't even have to come off the car. I can swap pulley's in about an hour.

You can go for a 2.31 pulley if you want a little more bang. It will heat up the blower a little more so that's a trade off you have to consider.
