Can someone suggest a good front rock guard alternative to the $400 ACS ones for a 2018 Grand Sport? Im a new owner and just realized Im getting damage on my quarters from not having these. I did some searches and see that guys are using ACS type but I cant believe they're $400. Can someone recommend a cheaper alternative. $400 seems like a lot of money for 2 mud flaps.

I remember years ago people complaining about $$ splitters, rock guards then complaining like hell and demanding to know how to get the $49 eBay splitters, etc. etc. don't fit right complaining about poor quality.. Driving a $100k car and putting cheapo parts on it is ridiculous to me.. I am sure someone on here might know a cheaper alternative to the rock guards.. Just remember you get what you pay for.and everything is inflated in the economy right now.. bad timing. You might be able to save a few $$ getting them un-painted and paint them yourself
Ive been in the car game for a long time and agree with most of what you said. My only thing is that most rock guards are ABS plastic and I find hard to accept that you can buy ABS plastic rock guards on Ebay for $33 but the ABS plastic ones that ACS make are $400+. They list the plastic fender extensions along with the rock guards for $1400 for just the front. Am I missing something?

If the cheapies fit fine then no biggie. On other vehicles I used cheaper in the past and usually regretted it.. just my 2 cents. I know when I get something from ACS.. it always fits perfectly. I don't want to "make" something fit on my Corvette.
I installed the GM extended rock guards on my 19 GS shortly after I bought the car and they work just fine. I have 21,000 miles on it now and have not had any rock chips since the car was new
The ACS extended front guards for $149.00 are sufficient. The XL guards don't address the problem any more than the ACS Enhanced version does. The Enhanced version is wide enough to prevent debris from hitting the side of the car when that debris releases from the tire at a high enough point. However, there are angles where the debris will fly below both the Enhanced and XL versions. For the rear, all you need are the GM extended versions.
The only way to prevent debris from flying below any of the guards on the market is to make 2-inch extensions that drop below the bottom of the other mudguards. Or you can purchase an aftermarket side skirt that is wide at the front so it blocks the debris. The stock-style side skirts narrow down at the front so the debris goes under the mudguards and over the side skirts.
Explain to me how rocks are going to get under and/or around the front rock guard, then get past the side skirt.
Yes, they are an expensive rip-off. But if they protect the paint on my car, it's money well spent. I've already long forgotten about the money that I spent.
Just buy them. You'll be glad that you did.

I have pictures to show how they do it. You can do the same on your car. Park your car with the front wheels straight, then place your cell phone camera so it is taking a picture from the rear brake duct. If the picture shows the tire touching the ground debris can tangentially fly off the tire as it rotates away from the ground right into the area where the camera is. Once it comes off the tire it travels in a straight line.
Red arrow points to middle of point where tire contacts ground. Area outlined in green is the tire, The bottom of the green area is the place where debris will be thrown backward into the side of the car. Stock side skirts, ACS Enhanced Mud Guards and stock tires and wheels.
I'm perfectly happy with the GMs; but, they aren't gigantic and don't make the car look like an ATV or SUV.
I tried those and ended up with tire booger marks on the rear quarters of my GS from the track. Now waiting on the ACS type to ship. I also tried the ExtremeOnline type but they intruded too deeply into wheel opening (tire rub) and plastic was too brittle. When I removed them one of the tabs broke off. From now on it will be only ACS for further trim pieces.
