So my ProCharged Stingray recently developed a very subtle stutter that feels almost like a missfire. It is barely detectible but detectible enough that my wife even noticed it. There is also a audible "ticking" you can hear when driving once the car warms up. The ticking doesn't seem to be present when cold at idle.
The AFM has been disabled in this car since 24000 miles and it has 57k now.
No codes present.
Is it possible for the AFM lifters to fail when the AFM is disabled?
Any other ideas or things to check or ideas how to diagnose?
Any lifter can fail. Just because AFM is turned off doesn't mean the AFM lifter won't fail. Turning AFM off may lessen the probability of failure but it doesn't eliminate the chance of failure.

Thanks Bill. How would you recommend confirming before tearing it down?
