I have a 2014 stingray convertible. All of a sudden I’m not getting any response from my voice commands. When I push the talk button on the steering wheel, the options come for phone, Audio commands, navigation etc., but no voice is heard asking what I’d like to do. I can’t make a phone call by voice, navigation by voice and any other of the menu options. It was working flawlessly before I put it away for the winter. It was maintained by a battery minder. I can answer incoming phone calls, make phone calls but I must select the phone number via my Apple Phone. Here’s what I’ve done:
- Removed and repaired my phone
- taken the steering wheel off and checked all connections. (Although I didn’t really think that was the issue as all the buttons work) I do have a custom skinned steering wheel to match the interior but that was done 3 years ago with no issues.
- Disconnected the battery for 18 hours. (The battery is only 2 years old)
‘Still no voice command response.
Any ideas I haven’t thought of would be appreciated.
No volume control for the voice command that I could find.I believe the later years have one but not the 2014.
I haven’t looked for a fuse/ circuit breaker issue as everything else works fine. I’ll give it a check.
Also sometimes the the voice command display comes up as a quick display then right away reverts back to the speedometer view.

An update on my no voice command issue. I brought it to a Chevy dealer. The charged me $159 for the electronics analysis and fixed the issue by reprogramming the system. I’m not sure what the total cost of the reprogram was as I had some other things done. New tire pressure sensor, (my part) and an alignment. Total cost $311. I’m picking it up tomorrow so I haven’t seen the actual bill breakout. However, it was a lot less than I thought it was going to be.

Second update:
Here is what the dealership did to resolve my no voice command issues, pretty simple.
- Go to settings menu and select the Language settings.
- Toggle the Language Settings through all available options then back to desired language.
My voice commands worked after this, if you have a phone paired to the car it will have to be re-paired.
I hope this helps other people if the issues. Dealership charged me $80 to perform this.

Anderdea. I know this is an old post but I truly wanted to thank you. I purchased my 14’ Z51 coupe last October and have been searching everywhere for a solution to this issue. I did the language selection routine and voice commands are back and working fine.
