Hello everyone, I had made a post earlier about a lot of electronic issues that had started on my 2015 z51 and it seems that the range device was the source, as I took it out and have driven about 700 miles in manual mode without any of the issues popping back up. The strange thing being that I have not been able to find anyone having any issues like this with the range device. The only issue I have seen is battery drain on the older ones, but mine was ordered directly from them about a month ago. I will likely contact range to be sent a replacement that hopefully will not do the same. Has anyone else experienced any range device induced issues such as all electronics shutting off briefly or all kinds of warnings in the DIC?
No, but just after buying mine and BEFORE installing my Range device, I did have the electronic dash momentarily shut down once or twice, but never has happened again. Not sure what was going on and it hasn't recurred in a thousand miles of driving or so, about half of the mileage before the Range was installed and the other half after. So, I'd consider that it could have been something only coincidentally happening, not resulting from the Range device. That may be why you haven't heard from anyone having similar problems with the Range.
Just a possibility . . . . . . .

I have a Range AFM Disabler in my ‘15. It has the latest firmware version. On a very rare occasion, mine will glitch and cause all kinds of hate and discontent with my electronic systems. I was put into limp mode once. That’s not something you want when pulling away from a traffic light. It set trouble codes on every major system on the CAN Bus. Fortunately, I have an Autel diagnostic tool that was handy in clearing all of them.

Not doubting your experience with the Range device, but I am wondering how you were able to determine that the Range is/was causing the trouble codes to be set? Just asking, since I had glitches BEFORE installing the Range, very infrequent, but there. If I had installed the Range and then had the glitches, I too would have suspected that the Range was the source of the problem . . . . . but it wasn't, as the glitches occurred prior to installation of the Range. Haven't driven much either before or after installing the Range, I've only owned the 2016 for a couple of months now, but haven't had any glitches after installation of the Range. However, I'm suspect that whatever caused the glitches prior to the Range installation didn't "heal" on it's own, but possibly may have . . . . .

I don’t have the TSB to support my theory, but GM put out a bulletin mentioning how devices plugged into the ODB port could cause spurious interrupts on the “Controller Area Network.” I’m not claiming to be an expert, but since I work in the computer science field, I don’t doubt this device could cause these problems. Also, I recall Range had issues with previous versions of their software. They were known to throw random codes on certain model years.
Btw, I still plan to continue using my disabler. When it DOES cause errors, it’s not harming the electronics.
Edit: The last two times mine had a hiccup, I can usually tell it’s about to fail because it drops into V4 mode when plugged in.

I installed my Range device in my 19 GS on November 10th, 2018 with 1,500 miles on the odometer. I now have 22,000 miles and zero glitches. Results may vary!!
Unless you battery has been replaced recently, do it now. Don't forget to clean the cable ends. It is amazing how many seemingly goofy, different electronic issues this solves. All the best.
Installed mine after having the trans TSB (?) performed for vibrations and irregular surging at about 12k miles (flushed the trans)... and just turned over 40k... only electronics issue I've experienced on my car 2017 GS is the HUD refusing to display one day... but otherwise all is well.
I had Range issues with my 2019 Z51. The acceleration would "stumble" and/or hesistate. At one point it felt like the trans was "floating". I thought it was an issue with the car but after I traded it for a 2019 Z and installed the Range I immdediately had a similar experience with the acceleration paused or stumbling. Took the Range out and the Z runs like a charm now.
Yep, just sold my 2020 C8 Z51 MRC, Lift options (waiting for my E-Ray at 3000.) Had 11,000 miles and was in like new condition. Zero engine DCT issues. Few minor issues of truck latch and TV Mirror camera replaced on warranty.
SIDEBAR
Followed all break-in suggestions thru ~500 miles. Think it was smart to take advantage of GM's free DCT filter change year 1 with <3000 miles. Knew I would not have 7000 miles year 2, why wait. Up to ~1000 miles car was a bit jerky crawling into the garage watching driver's mirror tip to wood door molding keeping close so passenger side cleared easily. After ~1000 miles it was perfectly smooth at that ~2 mph. Attributed that to the 1st gear clutch wearing in as it was slipping as pt must below ~4 mph or the engine would stall.
Best to get that initial DCT debris out with the required flush prior to the filter change. Note, year 3 when I had all DCT fluid change (as required) also had the DCT filter changed again (with flush) per the GM requirement of changing DCT filter at 7500 miles +/- 500 miles. That is required even if changing it early.
