Default C7 Dash Defroster delamination

Hello, the sun has apparentl caused the leather in my C7 LT3 to pull back from around the windshield defroster. Is there someplace that I can get a piece of leather or carbon fiber to insert over the problem? Thanks

Nope. Either have the dash replaced by GM or repaired at a leather shop.

Mine is beginning to do the same as the leather is visibly shrinking. I’ve wondered if someone has ever tried to 3d print a new defroster vent that has a larger outer lip that would in turn recover the receding edge of the leather that tends to become exposed as it shrinks.

I suggested this before. Maybe Apsis or American Hydro Carbon could do it.

It's possible but the problem doesn't stop at the defrost vent. Mine started there but has spread, now it's pulling out of the speakers. You will only mask the issue for so long.

I recently watch a great video of a shop showing the reason for the leather pulling back in all off those spots. it was cut to short and inferior glue used. the replacement dash now have a long set of tabs of leather along the front edge the defroster vents and back edge with staples at each tab to prevent the dash from pulling away. also new improved glue was used. the video states they dont know when the new dash was put in to use but all replacement dash now have the tabs.

An "Advanced search" across the C7 Forums will pull up a BUNCH of such threads, some with what others have done. All the best.
