Default Battery suggestions

The battery in my 2015 C7 went south today so I'm on the hunt for a replacement. Should I go with an OEM GM battery or is there a better aftermarket alternative?

Since the OEM battery lasted this long why not replace with the same?

I just replaced mine yesterday. On Saturday the car started a little slower than usual. Yesterday morning it would not start.

Since we bought our 16 Z51 in October last year and I did not know if the battery was orignal I just decided to replace it. I bought a Diehard Gold from Advance Auto Parts and a Diehard brand battery puller that grips the side of the battery to help you lift it out.

The whole swap process took about 30 minutes and was really easy using the puller. Once I got the old battery out I looked it over and it had no side label and a date code of 29/06/15 so it was the original 7 year old battery that came with the car. Look up the posts about changing the battery as there are a couple of gotchas but they were easy to deal with.

The new battery has higher CCA and reserve.

Someone else here mentioned that the same maker will make it to different specs so that part is hard to do. Do you know of a way?

Is it, really? The battery sits as far from the engine as possible, used half a year and the other half on a tender and even put on a tender when not being used for a few days during the warm months. I don't think OEM is that good when it is in a normal used car.

On my 2016 (built Sep '15), replaced the OEM after over 6 years in use, 60K mileage. Found an original replacement, most GM dealers carry it. I think it's a good battery.

I don't know. Had a Delco in my 91 and it was replaced under warranty in a little over a year. 2 years and a half after, it wasn't good and I was about to replace it when I sold the car.

I have always gotten great service out of Delco Batteries. Many times I have had original batteries last over 5 years with some going over 7 years. The one in my 2015 Z that was built in June of 2015 is one of those. The one in my wife's Terrain went over 6 years.
