Default Staggered vs non staggered

I’m sure there are a ton of threads here on this subject already, but I’m looking for some insight on a staggered wheel setup vs a non staggered setup. I’m going to be purchasing new wheels for my c7z. I’be seen a lot of people have gone 19/19 instead of the stock 19/20 config. Is this simply for a better tire selection, or what are the pros and cons of either?
TIA

I believe most do it for more tire availability. Probably a secondary consideration is that most tires (keeping the same width) are more expensive as diameter increases

I went to 19/19 for the tire selection. There are just much better choices. You can easily fit a nice fat tire like a 345/30/19 on the back of the Z06s. Check out whichever is your favorite tire brand and you'll notice far more options for the 19s than the 20s. For people who race their cars both on track and at the strip an 18 is even better. More options, cheaper tires, less weight, and overall better performance. The less wheel you have the more tire you can compensate with.

I believe 19/19 is the best for street stuff, and 18s are the best for track/strip.

Whatever wheel size you go with, it is important to keep the tire "stagger" meaning the front tire diameter needs to be about 1" smaller than the rear diameter. If not, you are throwing off the ABS and traction control systems which are designed to work with the original stagger.
