Hey yall, what would be the difference between getting a handheld tune programmer like the Scorcher Pro Performance Programmer or something like that versus something like a dyno tune where you take it to a tuner. I'm still very new to modding cars and tuning so please excuse my ignorance lol. Thank you!
Handheld tuners make it easy, but pretty much every one of them with a "Standard tune" is worthless. There is a forum vendor on here, Diablew, who does pro tunes for the Diablo Sport hand held tuners. If handheld is the way you want to go, definitely hit up Diablew on here for a tune that actually makes a difference. Diablew with the hand held or any remote tuner that knows what he/she is doing with HPTuners, will be just as good as a dyno tune in regards to power. If you're not interested in HPTuners and using a Laptop to work with your car, a Diablo Sport tuner with a custom tune from Diablew is 100% the way to go.
PatG tuning does excellent work with email tunes if you have a laptop and HPTUNERS. He also does dyno work but it’s usually not necessary for mild stuff.
Yes I can definitely get you hooked up with a correct version Diablosport programmer and custom tune for your car, as long as you don't have major mods done to it...
You can email me directly at: diablo DOT help AT gmail DOT com
Assuming the tuner knows his/her stuff and our cars, the dyno every time. We built street and B'ville racing engines for decades using a NASCAR dyno man and could not have been more pleased.
Lew did my GS. What is nice is that if you add something like intake/TB or exhaust, he will work with you updating your tune for a year. Hardest part is to find that secret road to log a 1/4 bang through the gears.
