Hello, I'm new to the group and looking for some feedback on getting my ZO6 modified. I've looked into several different shops (i.e. Callaway, Lingenfelter, Hennessey, Vengeance, Katech, etc.) and they all offer competitive packages but without any firsthand knowledge it's hard to make a choice. I have a budget of around $40K and looking to get around 800 RWHP. If anyone here has any experience with any of the shops mentioned above (good or bad) or others that they would be willing to share that might help me make a better decision that would be appreciated.
Welcome to the forum. You don't need 40K to get your Z06 into the 800rwhp range. There are different ways to reach that number (for example, stock engine with a different supercharger or modified engine with a stock supercharger). You get the point and you should discuss that with your tuner
When it comes to shops, at first I would try to choose a reputable one who is within driving distance to where you are located. If not, then you may need to have your car transported to your shop of choice
Really depends on where you are located to make it easier for yourself. I really like Katech. I used them for my past 877 whp 2017 Camaro SS and now use them for my 2016 z06. They do phenomenal work and Zach has been awesome to work with over there.
As a few people said in here, $40,000 is not needed to achieve 800rwhp. If you are set on spending that amount of money, there are plenty of performance modifications that can also be added to support that power level (chassis work, wheels, tires, transmission, etc). Turn your private messages on and shoot me a message, we can schedule a phone call to see exactly what your goals are for this build.
Zach, I did get a quote from you guys and the price point was good, but I had to arrange transport and I wasn't very fond of how you guys did the coil relocation (appearance wise anyway).
call David at DBR high performance in spring g hill tn. half that cost will net you 800 wheel elinimate the dod/afm vvt and cover transport. best tun er in the southeast. 30k sq ft shop mainline hub dyno and competent engine builders.
theres a lot of ways to get to 800 wheel you need to decide thru research how you want to accomplish that and what your goals are for the car, ie: drag car, street only, e85 or meth car ,nitrous car, roll race only the list goes on and on. also remember 800 wheel will be basically useless on street tires so if your a z07 car rear spindle conversion may be necessary to be able to hook the power to the ground. z06 makes power easily but using it is another story
