Default Key fob not detected?

Why all of a sudden I get this popping up on the screen when i try to start the car? I have to remove the key, and insert the fob into the steering wheel column slot, and then will start....BOTH key fobs are doing this....pulled the fob battery, and it tested 2.95 volts......will a drop of .05 volts stop it from working?

Replace the fob batteries. Yes, even that small of a voltage drop will cause issues.

New battery should be above 3.25 volts.

Just replace fob battery every 3 years and don't worry about it.

I too found a very slight fob battery voltage drop was a problem. Check all new batteries before insertion, as well.

3.2v, if less and it won't work.

A new thread on a new trouble would be helpful.

check the voltage at terminals by fuse box only had 5v ….
loosen battery terminal by fuse box positive and negative retightened problem solved…
went crazy for days trying to track this down. I have no idea why removing the rear positive battery cable make this happen bud whatever.

Um, 12v battery, FOB battery. I'm a tad confused as to the topic and the problem. Glad you got it fixed!
