I have a C7 (2017) with just over 22,000 miles (recently purchased). It is equipped with the 7 speed manual. When I reach a speed beginning around 58 mph, I feel a vibration/shudder occurring about 1 cycle per second. It happens at any speed above 58, stays constant in any gear, with the clutch engaged or disengaged. It was sold to me by a Chevy dealer as a certified car with a 12 month bumper to bumper warranty. I also purchased the extended warranty. I had both rear tires replaced as that might have been a contributor to the issue. All four tires have been rebalanced, and both wheels and tires checked for lateral runout and out of round conditions. The road force for each tire/wheel is within specifications. Replacing the rear tires helped mitigate the issue, but it is still there. Very intrusive and annoying. The dealership is telling me it may be inherent in the car. I am also wondering if the vibration issue caused the damage to the previous tires. Has anyone experienced this issue, or have any suggestions? Thank you,
Sincerely,
Gary
No vibration is “inherent” in ANY car…the dealership should have a Picoscope (labscope pictured below) which they should be using for NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) issues…tell them to use it and find the vibration and quit trying to blow smoke up you know where…you have that extended warranty so let them handle it…if not I’d elevate your concern.
Thank you very much for the advice. I am waiting to hear back from the service manager today. I will see what he says, and address your remedy with him. Thanks again. I will let you know how it works out.
Sincerely,
Gary
Where do you feel the vibration? Dead pedal, steering wheel, etc? Did they check the alignment? Was the issue there when you purchased the car or started afterward?
I feel it through the seat bottom, and if anything is in the cupholder you can see it and the shifter both vibrate at the same rate as zi feel through the seat….alignment was checked…they are going to use a picoscope to see if that helps locate the cause…thank you for your advice….sincerely, Gary
Interesting video, I will review some of the others, we use similar technology in aviation to dynamic balance propellers and rotor system. Not as advanced as this though. The service manager said they would put it on the picoscope, they do have one. The dealership is working with me to try and resolve this, he did not flinch when I asked about the picoscope, said they would run the diagnostic. Thanks again!

Hey Gary,
I've been chasing down the same issue with mine only it has an auto trans. I've done the usual inspections and got the TSB fluid flush done, few sets of wheels and tires and it still persists. TCC data logs show an insignificant <5 rpm of slip which do not correspond with the vibration. The only thing I can say for sure is that whatever is causing the vibration is either in the differential or after. Recently I decided to pull the wheel bearings and inspect them. So far I've found the drivers side axle nut was under torqued and there was a small amount of ratcheting in the wheel bearing, cv axle is fine. With any luck, I will get the passenger side apart, inspected and do a test drive this weekend.
There is another TSB out for the camshaft phaser magnet which says that it could be a cause for the shudder feeling if nvh testing does not indicate a problem elsewhere. Since both of ours happen while coasting and does not change with rpm suggest to me that the magnet is not the cause. If during the next test drive the vibration is still there I will likely install the new magnet for the hell of it. Who knows, it might work.
Thanks for the reply to my issue! The dealership is going to put a picoscope on this week to see if they can help isolate the issue. I hope you are able to get yours sorted out! Thanks again, will see where it goes, Regards!
Gary
