I am working on my car and changing out the clutch to reflect the work I am doing to the car. I have my motor out but someone told me there isnt enough room to install a triple disc with the tranny/torque tunnel installed because of how far it hangs out the back. Anyone have any actual experience with this? I could remove the radiator to give some room if needed. Thank you.
I know they make triple discs clutches for the C7. My engine did not want to separate very easily when I pulled it out. Also, I had to watch the AC compressor etc. I do not remember how close of a fit it was with the clutch on. A triple disc clutch is obviously larger as they recommend verifying shimming for the slave cylinder.
More directly, my question is. Has anyone had any clearance or fitment issues when reinstalling an engine with a triple disc? I know the other option for changing the clutch is removing nearly the back half of the car. A friend of mine had mentioned that a triple disc install isnt possible with the tranny in the car. If that is the case, I will probably use a twin disc one with a little less safety factor lol.
