Not sure why you think a new car couldn't have a loose wire. That is more likely than one that has some miles on it and the loose wire was found while the car was under warranty.
You need to find a scanner that can read GM Body codes and scan the car for codes. Not all codes generate a warning light. Sometimes all you have to tell you there is a code is something that isn't working correctly. Look for a GM MDI2 or equivalent. Amazon carries some that are Chinese Clones. The units plug into the OBD port but are controlled by GM software loaded on a PC so you need the MDI2 unit and the software along with a Windows PC.
