I've never had an issue even on days >110* outside air temp, meaning ~150* on track. I've run a variety of tracks in those conditions from tight, brake heavy tracks to high speed tracks that give the brakes a chance to cool before going from 140+ to 30mph

Like anything else, your intended usage is key. If the intent is to go W2W racing....you need an appropriate setup. For the street, HPDEs, general track days, and such, it works just fine IMO

I put them on my '16 Z51 for some much needed brake cooling on track. Was better, but not the final solution. I then added AP racing 2 pc rotors and that combo solved my problem.
Not necessary if you don't track your car IMO.
Not even sure if that kit is still available.

Upgraded my GS with the ACS Z06 front splitter with the optional undertray. It has built in ducts that direct air to the brakes.

The ducts direct air to where the brake cooling ducting is located, same as the factory Stage 2 undertray

The ducts work well. I installed a set on my 15Z in the summer of 2017. I can't use the wheel blockers since I use 18 inch wheels on track but I haven't had any brake cooling issues with the ducts.

Before I switched to the AP Racing Brakes I had tried to use the LG kit to cool my CCM brakes and found it to be very fragile and easily damaged with the ducts being torn out of the car when turning too sharply in the paddock. When I switched to the AP Brakes I went back to the original stock air deflectors and upgraded to the new duct system about 9 months later. I have been using them since 2017 and haven't had a brake cooling issue yet.
