Default Partial Throttle Issue

I am having an issue lately.

Conditions:
Straight road.
Partial throttle (1/3 – ½) around 2500 RPM
No wheel spin

eLSD shows about 24% and wheel slip shows about 10%.
Power pulses like traction control is limiting power but no TC or Stability Control lights.

Has anyone else had this happen?

2019 Grand Sport, M7, Magnuson 2650, 77000 miles.

Thanks,
MrHix

wow, someone who drives their c7. kudos.

half throttle with a poopercharger in Missouri where highs are under 60F... chances are you are breaking traction, as you're on summer tires outside of optimal temperatures, allseasons which don't have as much stick, or winter tires which really don't have much stick. it's odd that the light isn't flashing at you, but if it's saying there's wheel slip, then I'd assume there's wheel slip. perhaps it's breaking free, grabbing, and breaking free? if you floor it does it trigger traction control complete with flashing light?

What’s full throttle like? This happening in every gear at the same rpm’s?

Double check your tire pressures. You state no wheel spin, but note indicated tire slip.

Tire slip is calculated based on relative front and wheel speeds not correlating within some range.

Maybe tire pressures being off can cause your symptoms.

Thanks! I got to try something new today. I've never really watched the eLSD display while driving.

OK, let's make sure we're on the same page:

2019 GS M7, 48 F, Michelin A/S tires, tires all COOL at 32 psig.

The upper number on the display is the % the eLSD is locked - 0 = no locking, 100% = fully locked (solid axle).

The bottom scale is % wheel slip from 0 to 30%.

At a stop, cruising, or coasting eLSD lockup was between 2 and 12% and the % wheel slip was 0%.

I was able to get some wheel slip when accelerating from a stop. I did not "feel" any tire slippage, no tire chirp or wheel spin. Normal acceleration showed green increasing to amber.

Quicker acceleration went directly to almost 30% slip then dropped off. This was all during the period before the clutch was fully engaged and lasted about 4 sec. (Screen shots from a quick video).

The action definitely feels like when TC is working but no TC light. Temps were 50 - 60 degrees, straight and level road, dry and clean, AS3+ tires with lots of tread left, tire pressure 29 - 30 PSI. I will try some other gears and RPMs and see what happens then.

Thanks for the inputs.

Here's the explanation on what the display means and more on how the eLSD works. Apparently what I see just starting out is not real meaningful and is due to calculations with the small numbers when just starting out.

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...d-display.html

The linked article notes that the clutch percentage runs at 10 - 15% or so at highway speeds, but can increase with higher speeds, more throttle, or extreme lane changes.

So - why are you getting 24% lockup? Some input is off that either indicates high speed, large throttle position, or steering angle.

The slip calculation comes down to the wheel rpm front / rear being somehow out of whack. This could be due to wheel spin, non-OEM tire diameters (sizes or pressures) or some error measuring wheel speeds such as the wheel speed sensor for each wheel. Your tire pressures match, you are at a steady speed (no wheel spin), so I would look at the speed sensors. If the calculation has gone wacky by itself there is nothing you can do except get a good diagnosis.

I don't really know - the system reads as very complicated with lots of inputs to the calculations.

I'm having a similar symptom. In the dry I have the same feeling of something pulling timing (Traction Control). DTC shows a misfire but only in the rain if a puddle splashes the car, no DTC in the dry. Plugs and wires will be here this weekend, so fingers crossed.

My symptoms only happened under low RPM and heavy load. Good luck!

I'm not much of a spark plug whisperer, so don't seen anything alarming. Also no cracks on the ceramic. https://photos.app.goo.gl/Rs3G178FuakZHF268

New plugs and wires gave me about a decent bump in response and power according to the butt dyno. No misfire behavior so far, I'll have to go hit some puddles in the rain. That's the only time I could get the DTC. Tentatively resolved.
