I purchased a 19 zr1 recently. When I was programming my phone to to it, I noticed the car had a name already. I don't remember if it was under wifi or Bluetooth, but I want to change that. Anyone know how to go about doing that?
I would imagine a dealership does that often. Should be free of charge but you never know these days. They might have a market adjustment fee for that too.
Actually the "$150,000" car didn't come with a "book" to tell you how to do "that". If it did I wouldn't be inquiring. It seems people have lost the original intent of what Forums where created for. People who have a common subject interest come together to share their experiences and to seek common knowledge on the subject matter. Not that it's your business but I ordered an owner's manual for the 150,000 dollar car. If you don't have anything positive to offer, DON'T.
I suppose some programmable items on the newer vehicles have password protection but, there again, the dealership can probably delete the old and facilitate setting up the new. I liked the manual on the old 380sl I just sold. Maybe 10 or 12 pages.

I wasn't responding to everyone. I do understand that many simple questions can be answered by looking in the manual (if u have one). But my particular question probably isn't even in the manual and I doubt current dealer staff can answer it. That's why I inquired on here. I wasn't like, "what kind of oil do I use?". That's right on the cap. If u track it might be different. It was for my zl1 1le. It had 2 separate manuals. 1 was for the track/performance.
As far as I can tell, on my '14 1LT, there is no option to rename the 'name' of the car, unlike any other vehicle I've owned. IIRC it's always "Chevy MyLink" or something.
After pairing it with my phone, I rename the bluetooth profile (in the phone).
If it is a paired phone, simply delete it in the blue tooth settings on the radio screen,
If it is a Wifi network, you can change this using the Chevrolet Appl on your phone. You install the app on your phone, create an account, link your car to it. Then you can control all of the Onstar features, remotely unlock your car, GPS locate your car, change the Wifi name, etc etc...
