i keep hearing alerts, such as, "Accident Ahead" or "Construction, Narrow Lanes" or "Caution, item in Roadway".
that is fine with me.
i presume, but truly do not know, that they are coming from some app on my iphone and playing thru AppleCarplay.
the problem is,
the audio is 3 or 4 times louder than the music i am playing and i have to try hard to keep from wrecking the car when i am surprised by them.
It is so loud it actually hurts my ears.
Does anyone know, where the safety announcements are originating and, more importantly, how to reduce the volume by 80%?
thx
Do you have an On Star subscription? That would be my first guess. Next time it talks to you, quickly turn your volume **** down and see if that helps.
The radios have had changes over the years so this may or may not work. However, even with changes things have stayed relatively similar so with a little experimentation you should be able to get there....
Select Navigation Voice Preferences list item to adjust the voice preferences.
The following options can be adjusted:
Voice Volume
Prompts During Phone Calls ON-OFF
Voice Prompts
Press the Voice Prompts list item to toggle voice prompts ON and OFF.
Voice Volume adjusts the audio feedback volume via the − or + button.
Note that if a prompt is being played and the main volume is adjusted, the prompt volume will update and be saved. However, you usually have to be pretty quick to be able to do that
Jim,
you probably solved it. your instructions were precise and worked.
Voice Prompts volume was set at 63 for some reason.
i took it down to 18, the lowest number it would allow.
