Yesterday I changed the diff fluid. I put in all three quarts; I thought it was only supposed to take 2.85 quarts? I'm pretty sure the car was level.
The fluid that came out looked like molten silver. No chunks on the plugs, but lots and lots of that 'paste' (fluid+filings) was stuck them. I suspect it was the original fluid from 2014, with 75k on it.
Presumably, if the gearsets were worn enough to allow more fluid to fit, wouldn't I be experiencing other issues, like whining, excessive driveline lash, etc?
